The advent calendar for charcuterie lovers

Twenty-four days of December, twenty-four doors, and behind each one something to open the aperitif with. Our 2026 advent calendar holds 87 pieces for a total of 818 g of artisan charcuterie, made in our workshops in the Ardèche. No chocolate, no gimmicks: dry-cured salami only, in seven flavours.

Please note before ordering: we deliver within the European Union, and the calendar ships separately from the rest of the shop. It must therefore be ordered on its own, in a separate order from your other products.

Four a day, not one

You see the difference the moment you open it. Twenty-one doors contain four mini salami each, the remaining three a whole dry-cured sausage. Most sausage advent calendars offer a single piece per day, for a total weight between 180 and 400 g. Ours weighs 818 g.

Per kilo, that puts our box at €59.90 per kilo — comparable artisan calendars usually sit between €95 and €140 per kilo. A lower headline price almost always hides a lighter box. Before buying any charcuterie advent calendar, always look for the total weight.

As seen in the press

The saucisson advent calendar from La Boutique Des Saucissons featured on French news channel LCI, morning show of 16 November 2025

LCI — morning show of 16 November 2025. The box shown on air is the previous edition.

Our calendar has been featured on LCI and RMC, and covered by Le Point, Femme Actuelle, Marmiton, the Journal des Femmes and some twenty other outlets.

What is in the box

Three whole dry-cured sausages

On three days of the month you do not open a mouthful, but a real saucisson to slice and share.

  • Pure pork — the recipe that does not cheat: pork, salt, pepper, time.
  • With Cantal cheese — the cheese melts into the meat as it dries and gives it a rounder taste.
  • With walnuts — the crunch of the nut against the softness of the fat, an Ardèche classic.

Eighty-four mini salami, seven flavours

Twelve of each flavour, spread across the other twenty-one doors: pure pork, Cantal, hazelnut, black olive, tomato, Parmesan and truffle. Two of the seven are cheese flavours — and you never land on the same thing two days running unless you want to.

A first: whole sausages in an advent calendar

We were the first to put them in the doors. The idea came from a simple observation: a sausage advent calendar is usually a solitary affair. One mouthful a day, for yourself. Adding three whole saucissons changes what the box is — it becomes shareable, and three December evenings become an aperitif.

Made by us, in the Ardèche

We are not resellers. This calendar is made in our workshops in Joyeuse, in the southern Ardèche, by the craftsmen of Charcuteries Debroas.

The meat is exclusively of French origin. Each whole sausage is filled into a natural pork casing, then tied by hand. Next comes the warming stage, which starts fermentation, then drying, where the dry air of the Cévennes does the rest. Allow three weeks. No drying accelerators, no colourings.

This slow process is what produces the natural grey bloom on the surface of our whole sausages. It is edible, and it is a sign of controlled drying rather than a defect.

A gift that looks like nothing else

It is probably the easiest Christmas present to get right. It requires no particular knowledge of the recipient — they simply need to like charcuterie — and it resembles nothing else they will be given. Under the tree, for a food-loving friend, or for yourself with no justification needed.

If you are looking for other ideas for the festive season, have a look at our Christmas charcuterie gift boxes.

For companies

The advent calendar has become one of our most requested formats for corporate gifting and staff gifts. It has three advantages: almost everyone likes it, it is easy to distribute, and it keeps the recipient company for the whole of December rather than a single evening.

Business orders ship first, from 3 November, which leaves time to hand them out before the holidays. Volume pricing and terms on request.

Pre-order, dispatch and delivery

Our calendars are made in limited quantities. Every year they sell out before the end of November, and every year we have to turn down orders in December. Pre-ordering is the only way to secure yours.

  • The calendar is ordered on its own — it ships separately, so you will need a distinct order for your other products.
  • Business customers — dispatch from 3 November 2026
  • Private customers — dispatch from 23 November 2026
  • Delivery guaranteed before 1 December for any pre-order placed before 25 November
  • Delivery in 48 to 72 hours, to your door or to a pick-up point, free anywhere in the European Union

We currently ship within the European Union only. Payment is taken at the time of pre-order: that is what reserves your box. You receive a tracking email as soon as it leaves us.

Storage and tasting

Keep the box somewhere dry and cool, below 18 °C. The fridge is neither necessary nor ideal: damp cold softens the casing.

The mini salami dry out quickly once their door is open, given their size — best eaten within the following days. The three whole sausages keep for several weeks. Take them out twenty minutes before slicing: at room temperature a dry-cured sausage releases far more aroma.

To go with it, a craft beer from the region works particularly well with the bolder flavours such as truffle or black olive.

Frequently asked questions

Do you deliver to the United Kingdom?
Not at present. We deliver within the European Union only. Sending charcuterie from the EU to the UK is subject to import restrictions we are not set up for.

Can I order other products at the same time as the calendar?
No. The calendar ships separately from the rest of the shop, so you need a distinct order for your other saucissons. That is the trade-off for a dedicated dispatch aligned with the pre-order dates.

How many doors does the calendar have?
Twenty-four, one a day until Christmas. Twenty-one contain four mini salami, three contain a whole dry-cured sausage.

What is the total weight?
818 g, across 87 pieces. That is two to four times the weight of most sausage advent calendars sold online.

How many people is it for?
With four pieces a day it shares easily between two people or a family — unlike most calendars, which are designed for one.

Is there pork in every piece?
Yes. The whole box is pork-based, of French origin.

Does it contain cheese?
Two of the seven flavours are made with cheese: Cantal and Parmesan. The cheese is worked into the sausage; there are no separate pieces of cheese in the box.

Can I still order in December?
Rarely. Quantities are limited and we usually sell out at the end of November. Pre-order before 25 November to be delivered before 1 December.

How can you tell whether a charcuterie advent calendar is artisan-made?
Three signs: a natural casing rather than a reconstituted one, a drying time of at least three weeks, and a stated country of origin for the meat. If any of the three is missing, you are usually looking at an industrial product.
