My account

How do I log in to my account?

There is no password to remember any more: logging in is now done with a one-time code. Click Log in, enter your email address, and we send you a six-digit code straight away. Enter that code on the login page and you are in your account. The code is valid for a few minutes only: if it has expired, simply request a new one. There is no account to create beforehand either: your area is linked to the email address you used to place your orders. If the code does not arrive, check your junk or spam folder, as well as the Promotions and Updates tabs if you are on Gmail. Also make sure you are using the right email address: that is what identifies your account. One good side effect: no password can be lost, forgotten or stolen any more.

How do I change my personal details?

Log in to your account with the code received by email, then open your profile: you can update your name, your telephone number and your delivery and billing addresses there. Your email address, on the other hand, serves as your login. To change it, write to us at contact@laboutiquedessaucissons.fr: we will make the change for you. One point to watch: changing an address in your account does not change the address on an order already confirmed. If you have made a mistake, write to us very quickly with your order number — as long as the parcel has not left, we can correct it.

How do I subscribe to or unsubscribe from the newsletter?

You can sign up from the foot of our site, or by ticking the box provided when you order. It is the best way to hear about our offers, because our promotions are occasional and are not announced in advance. To unsubscribe, simply click the unsubscribe link at the bottom of any of our emails. It takes effect immediately and has no bearing on your orders or on a subscription you have running.

How do I delete my account and my personal data?

You can ask for your account to be deleted at any time by writing to us at contact@laboutiquedessaucissons.fr from the email address linked to your account. We then delete your personal data, apart from the information the law requires us to keep, such as invoices and accounting records, for the statutory period. You also have rights of access, rectification and objection over your data: a simple request by email is enough.

Orders

How is my order presented?

Our packers put all their care and craft into it. Your order is carefully packed in a box sized to the quantity of saucissons you have chosen. If your order includes items in glass, they are wrapped in bubble wrap so that nothing can break. Before sealing your parcel we add a thank-you card. If your order is a gift, do leave a personal message in the comments when you order: we will be glad to copy it onto the card.

How is my order presented?

Can I change or cancel my order after placing it?

Our packers work fast, so it is a question of timing. Write to us as soon as you can at contact@laboutiquedessaucissons.fr, giving your order number (for example CDC-LBDS23559) and what you would like to change. As long as the parcel has not been packed, we can change the address, add or remove an item, or cancel the order and refund you. Once the parcel has left, nothing more can be done: you will have to wait for delivery. Good to know: pre-orders such as the advent calendar can be changed for much longer, since they only leave on the announced dispatch date.

Do you have promo codes, and how do I use mine?

We have no permanent discount code. Our offers are occasional and decided as production allows: when a batch is available in quantity, we offer it at a reduced price for a few days only. The best way not to miss them is to sign up for our newsletter and follow us on social media: promotions are announced there first. If you have a code, enter it in the Discount code field on the payment page, just before the summary, and confirm: the amount comes off immediately. Only one code can be used per order, and a code cannot be added once the order has been confirmed.

Can I send my order as a gift, straight to the recipient?

Yes, and it happens very often. Simply enter the address of the person you are giving to as the delivery address, and your own as the billing address. Add your personal message in the comments when you order: we copy it by hand onto the card slipped into the parcel. No price and no invoice is included in the shipment; your invoice is emailed to you and stays available in your customer account.

I have not received my order confirmation email.

The confirmation email goes out automatically as soon as payment is approved. If it has not arrived, check your junk or spam folder first, then the Promotions and Updates tabs if you are on Gmail. Also check that there is no typing mistake in the email address entered with the order: that is by far the most common cause. In any case you will find your order and its invoice in your customer account. If no order appears in your account, the payment probably did not go through and the order was not recorded. Contact us and we will check with you.

Where can I find my invoice?

When you create your account, the email address you register is the one used to send your invoices. You therefore receive your invoice automatically in the inbox linked to your account. For convenience, you can also reach your invoices directly from your customer account. That section lets you view, download or print your documents at any time.

I ordered on Amazon, Ankorstore, TikTok Shop or another platform: who should I contact?

Our products are also sold on several partner platforms. When your order was placed there, it is the platform that holds the sales contract: refund requests, returns and claims must be filed directly from your account on that platform. We cannot refund an order we did not take payment for. For any question about the product itself — composition, storage, tasting, advice — do write to us: that is what we are here for. A simple marker: orders whose reference begins with CDC-LBDS were placed on our own site, and those we handle from start to finish.

How do I make a claim?

To report a problem with your order, please send us an email at contact@laboutiquedessaucissons.fr. Include photographs and a detailed description of the problem. Where the goods delivered do not match your order, or where an item is missing, we undertake to put things right. So that we can act quickly, please notify us by email within 48 hours of receiving your parcel. Remember to give us your surname and first name, your order number (for example CDC-LBDS23559) and a precise description of the problem. You will receive a reply as soon as possible. Please note that we cannot handle claims made by telephone message, Facebook, Instagram, Google My Business or any other platform. Only claims sent by email will be processed. If a product needs to be returned, items should be sent to: Laboutiquedessaucissons 1C, chemin des Beaumes 07260 JOYEUSE. Thank you in advance for your cooperation; we remain at your disposal for any further questions.

Delivery & returns

How long do preparation and delivery take?

Your order is packed by hand in our workshop in Joyeuse, in the Ardèche, generally within 24 to 48 working hours. Orders placed at the weekend or on a public holiday leave on the next working day. Allow 48 to 72 hours of transit within mainland France, a little more for the rest of Europe. You receive an email with your tracking link as soon as the carrier takes charge of the parcel. Over the festive season volumes rise sharply: we advise placing Christmas orders early rather than waiting for the last week.

Which carriers do you use, and can I choose a pick-up point?

We ship mainly by Colissimo, Chronopost and Mondial Relay: you choose at checkout. Some business orders go by UPS or by TFE lorry haulage. In France, delivery is free from €20 to a Mondial Relay pick-up point, from €35 to your door, and from €40 to a Colissimo pick-up point. Below those amounts, the exact charge is shown before payment, once you have entered your address. If you are often out, we recommend the pick-up point: the parcel is kept there for several days, under cover — and it is also the option that becomes free soonest.

Where can I find my parcel's tracking number?

Once your parcel has been taken in at the sorting centre, the carrier sends you a tracking link by email. That link lets you follow your order through to delivery. If the email does not arrive, check your junk or spam folder: it may have been redirected there. You can also track your parcel at any time on our parcel tracking page. The tracking link is available directly from your customer account too. Go to My orders and open the details of your order: the link appears under the delivery address, ready to use.

Do you deliver outside France?

Yes. We deliver to Monaco and to most European Union countries: Belgium, Germany, Luxembourg and the Netherlands, then Austria, Spain, Italy, Portugal and Ireland, and finally the other countries of the Union. The free-delivery thresholds depend on the zone and on the option you choose. To your door, delivery is free from €35 in Belgium, Germany, Luxembourg and the Netherlands, and from €50 in the other countries of the Union. To a pick-up point the thresholds are lower: €20 for those same four countries and €40 elsewhere. The exact amount is shown as soon as you enter your address. If your country or territory does not appear at checkout, it is not served at present: meat products are subject to strict customs restrictions outside the European Union. Write to us — we look at requests case by case.

My parcel is marked as delivered but I have not received it, or tracking has stopped moving.

Start by opening the full tracking: the carrier often notes that the parcel has been left at a pick-up point, handed to a caretaker or a neighbour, or that an incomplete address is holding up the round. If nothing explains the situation, write to us at contact@laboutiquedessaucissons.fr with your order number and your tracking number. We open an enquiry with the carrier and keep you informed. Depending on the outcome, we resend the order or refund you. Tell us quickly: carriers only accept claims for a limited period after the announced delivery date. After that we can no longer obtain anything from them.

My parcel arrived damaged, opened or incomplete: what should I do?

We are sorry, and we will find a solution. If the parcel is visibly damaged on delivery, you can refuse it or note reservations with the driver. In every case, write to us at contact@laboutiquedessaucissons.fr within 48 hours of receipt, with your order number, photographs of the parcel and of the products, and a description of what is missing or damaged. Those are the elements that let us act quickly and go back to the carrier. Depending on your preference, we resend the products concerned or refund you. Claims are handled by email only: messages left by telephone or on Facebook, Instagram or Google cannot be taken up.

Can summer heat spoil the saucissons in transit?

No, and that is the great advantage of dry-cured sausage: it is a cured product, stabilised by salt and by several weeks of drying. It needs no cold chain and travels very well, even in high summer. After a hot journey a saucisson may look shiny or feel slightly greasy: that is simply fat coming to the surface, not a defect. Leave it to rest for a few hours at room temperature somewhere dry and airy and it settles. Terrines in jars, beers and products in glass, on the other hand, cope less well with prolonged heat: collect your parcel promptly during a heatwave.

Can I collect my order from the shop?

Our shop in Joyeuse, in the Ardèche, is open to you and you are of course welcome to buy there in person, at 1C chemin des Beaumes. Collecting an order placed online, however, is not offered automatically at checkout. If you are passing through the region and would like to arrange a collection, write to us before ordering at contact@laboutiquedessaucissons.fr: we will see together what is possible.

What is your returns and exchange policy if a product is not right for me?

At La Boutique des Saucissons, your satisfaction is our absolute priority. We are committed to giving you a faultless shopping experience and quality products. If a product were not to meet your expectations, we are here to find a suitable solution. Our returns and exchange policy allows you to send back any unopened product, in its original condition, within 7 days of receiving your order. You may choose between a full refund and an exchange. To start the process, simply contact us and explain the reason for the return. Please note that return postage is at your expense, except where the product is defective or where we have made a mistake. Because we want every tasting of our saucissons to be a pleasure, do not hesitate to send us your questions or any concerns. Our team will be delighted to help you.

Payment

Which payment methods do you accept?

On our online shop we accept several means of payment to make your purchase easier. The bank cards accepted are Visa, Mastercard, American Express and Bancontact. We also offer PayPal, although that option is mainly available for orders from outside France. All card transactions on our shop are secured and processed through our partner Payplug, which applies strict security measures to protect your personal data and your payments. We want your shopping to be as simple and as safe as possible. If you have any question about payment methods, do not hesitate to contact us.

When am I charged?

The charge is taken when the order is confirmed: it is the payment that triggers the packing of your parcel. You pay only once, at the time of ordering. Your bank may first show a simple authorisation, or hold, which turns into an actual charge within the following hours. If an order did not go through, that authorisation is cancelled automatically and the amount reappears on your account within a few working days, with nothing for you to do.

Are transactions secure?

The site www.laboutiquedessaucissons.fr uses an advanced security system designed to protect all sensitive data linked to means of payment as well as possible. Every transaction is carried out securely, so that you can shop online with peace of mind. The payment process takes place directly between you and our payment provider, chosen for its reliability and its recognised expertise in handling online transactions. You therefore benefit from strong protection at every stage of your purchase. We would also point out that no bank card number is recorded or stored on our site, so that your personal information stays as confidential as possible.

My payment was declined, what should I do?

A decline almost always comes from the bank and not from our site: payment limit reached, 3D Secure confirmation not completed in time, or an expired card. Check first that you have confirmed the notification in your banking app, then try again. If the decline persists, try another card or another means of payment, and get in touch with your bank. Rest assured: a declined order is not recorded and nothing is taken from you. If several pending lines appear on your account after repeated attempts, they are authorisations and they will disappear on their own.

Can I pay on invoice or by bank transfer?

For private customers, payment is by bank card or PayPal at the time of ordering: it is the payment that confirms the order and sends it to our workshop. For businesses, works councils, local authorities and associations, we issue quotations and accept bank transfer. Write to us at contact@laboutiquedessaucissons.fr stating your organisation, the products and the quantities you would like.

Why has the price of a product changed since my last order?

Our reference prices are stable, but we regularly run occasional promotions, decided as production allows: when a batch is available in quantity, we offer it at a reduced price for a few days. A product seen at a reduced price on one visit may therefore be back at its usual price the next time, and the other way round. These offers are not scheduled in advance: the newsletter is the only way to hear about them first.

Where can I find my invoice?

When you create your account, the email address you register is the one used to send your invoices. You therefore receive your invoice automatically in the inbox linked to your account. For convenience, you can also reach your invoices directly from your customer account. That section lets you view, download or print your documents at any time.

Subscription

When will I receive my first box?

You receive your first basket as soon as you order, then the following ones on the anniversary date of your subscription.

I have a monthly subscription — am I committed for several months?

The 1-month subscription runs for an indefinite period and can be cancelled at any time. You can unsubscribe or pause it directly from your account. Otherwise it renews automatically each month.

Are the 3, 6 and 12-month subscriptions renewed automatically?

When you take out a multi-month plan, you pay for the whole subscription immediately, in a single payment. These plans renew automatically at the end of the period. If you would rather not go on receiving your basket, you can end the subscription from your account in one click. It then stops when the plan you chose comes to an end.

How does payment work?

Payment is taken in a single instalment, whatever the number of months you have chosen.

What will my seconds basket contain?

A surprise! You will get 2 kg of saucisson or of mini salami, depending on the plan you chose. Depending on our production, your basket may hold a single flavour (plain, Beaufort, walnut and so on) or a mix of several.

Does the content of my basket change from one month to the next?

Yes, and that is the whole point of the formula: the content depends on what we are making at the time. Depending on the month, you will receive a single-flavour basket (plain, Beaufort, walnut and so on) or an assortment of several recipes. You do not choose the composition, but the weight is always the one stated in your plan. If a flavour is a problem for you — a nut or milk allergy, for instance — let us know by email when you subscribe: we will take it into account.

Can I give a subscription as a gift?

Yes, and it makes a very fine present. Take out the plan of your choice — 1, 3, 6 or 12 months — entering the recipient's address as the delivery address and your own as the billing address. On multi-month plans, payment is taken in a single instalment when you subscribe, no prices are included in the parcels, and you keep control of the subscription from your account. Do leave us a note in the comments: we copy it onto the card in the first delivery.

I would like to pause my subscription.

Log in to your La Boutique des Saucissons account. Go to the « Subscriptions » tab, select your subscription, then click « Pause ».

Can I change plan or postpone a delivery?

Yes. From the « Subscriptions » tab of your account you can pause your subscription and restart it whenever you like, change the delivery address and update your payment details. To move from one plan to another — a different basket or a different length — write to us at contact@laboutiquedessaucissons.fr: we make the change for you, free of charge.

I would like to change the delivery address.

You can change the delivery address at any time from your customer account.

I have a new bank card — what should I do?

You can update your payment details directly from your account, under « Payment methods » in the « Subscriptions » tab.

I would like to unsubscribe.

Log in to your account. Go to the « Subscriptions » tab, select your subscription, then click « Unsubscribe ».

How much does delivery cost?

Delivery is free — we cover it.

Our products & ingredients

What is the difference between a saucisson, a fuet, a mini salami and a small saucisson?

It is above all a matter of format, calibre and drying time. The dry-cured saucisson is the classic piece, from 230 to 500 g depending on the range, meant to be sliced. The small saucisson (around 105 g) is its individual version, ideal for an aperitif or a picnic. The mini salami is a small, thin format you bite into as it is, without a knife, sold in bags to share. The fuet is a Catalan speciality, long, thin and supple, milder in taste and more tender in texture. The chorizo, finally, is set apart by its paprika seasoning, from mild to extra-hot. The principle is the same throughout: the thinner the piece, the faster it dries and the more concentrated the taste.

What are your saucissons made of?

The recipe is deliberately short: French pork, salt, pepper, spices, sugar, ferments — and the ingredient that gives the product its name when there is one: walnut, hazelnut, Beaufort, Cantal, olives, truffle and so on. All of it filled into a natural casing and tied with linen string. We use fresh, first-choice meat, less than 20% fat at mixing, and no colourings. The exact composition, the allergens and the nutritional values appear on each product page and on its label.

Do your products contain allergens?

Our plain recipes contain no gluten, no lactose and no nuts. Several of our flavoured recipes do, however, by their very nature: milk in the Beaufort, Cantal, Comté, goat's cheese and Roquefort saucissons as well as in the Parmesan mini salami; nuts in the walnut and hazelnut recipes. Our products are made in a workshop that also handles these ingredients, so traces can never be entirely ruled out. The full list of allergens is given on each product page and on its label. If you have a severe allergy, write to us before ordering: we will check it with you.

Do your saucissons contain nitrites?

Like almost all dry-cured charcuterie, our recipes use curing salt. It is essential to the food safety of a product that is not cooked: it prevents dangerous bacteria from developing over the weeks of drying. We use the lowest possible dose, in line with the French charcuterie code of practice. The exact wording appears in the ingredient list of each product. No colouring, on the other hand, goes into our recipes: the colour of our saucissons is the colour of the meat, not that of an additive.

Where does your meat come from?

Our saucissons are made from the meat of exclusively French pigs, selected fresh. Making, drying and maturing all take place in the Ardèche, at Joyeuse. Some of our ranges go further: our Ardèche PGI products meet an official set of specifications governing the origin of the meat and the making method, and our Bleu-Blanc-Cœur range comes from farms committed to animal feed rich in omega 3.

Are your products halal or kosher?

No. Our saucissons, chorizos and fuets are made from French pork: they can therefore be neither halal nor kosher, and we hold no certification to that effect. All our products are also made in the same workshop, which would not allow a separate production line to be guaranteed.

What are « seconds » products?

They are not old products, and that is the most important thing to be clear about. They are saucissons that are perfectly good to eat but do not meet our appearance criteria: an off-standard calibre, an irregular shape, a badly placed string, a damaged label. Rather than lose them, we offer them in 2 kg anti-waste baskets at a reduced price. The taste, the making and the freshness are exactly the same as on our other products; only the look failed the check. You do not choose what goes into the basket: depending on what we are making at the time, it may hold a single flavour or a mix of several recipes.

Storage & tasting

My saucisson is too hard or too dry: how do I soften it?

It is the question we are asked most often, and there are several very simple answers. The gentlest: wrap the saucisson in a clean, slightly damp cloth and leave it overnight in the fridge. It regains its suppleness without going soft. Quicker: slice it, lay the slices on a plate and cover them with film for a few hours. Some people slip it into an airtight bag with a slice of apple or a piece of bread: the moisture they give off does the rest. And if it stays very dry, do not throw it away: diced small, it is excellent in a quiche, an omelette, a savoury cake, a lentil soup or a pan of potatoes. A saucisson that has dried too much is a wonderful cooking ingredient. To stop it happening again: once started, wrap it in a clean cloth rather than cling film, and keep it somewhere cool and airy.

How should I store my dry-cured sausage?

Dry-cured sausage keeps at room temperature, somewhere dry, cool and airy, away from light: there is no need to refrigerate it. Once started, wrap it in a clean cloth to keep it supple.

How long does a dry-cured sausage keep?

A whole, unopened dry-cured sausage keeps easily for several weeks (two to three months). The recommended date is given on each product label. Once started, it keeps for a few days wrapped in a clean cloth.

How long does a chorizo keep once it has been started?

Like our saucissons, our chorizo is a dry-cured product: whole and unopened, it keeps for several weeks at room temperature, somewhere dry and airy. Once started, wrap it in a clean cloth or in baking paper — never in airtight cling film, which makes it sweat — and eat it ideally within two to three weeks. The fridge is not essential. If it has been in there, take it out half an hour before serving: cold masks its aromas.

Can you freeze a dry-cured sausage or a chorizo?

It is not necessary, and we do not recommend it for a whole dry-cured sausage: it is a cured product made to keep at room temperature, and freezing spoils its texture and costs it its suppleness once thawed. If you really must — for a sausage you have started and will not finish quickly — freeze it in slices, in an airtight bag with the air pressed out, for two to three months at most. Thaw it in the fridge, never at room temperature and never in the microwave. The best way to keep it remains the simplest: somewhere dry, cool and airy, and a clean cloth.

Should you peel a saucisson before eating it?

Our saucissons are filled into natural casings, which are edible and perfectly safe. Plenty of enthusiasts eat them as they are; others prefer to peel them, especially on drier pieces where the casing turns leathery. So it is a matter of taste. To peel it easily, score it lengthways with the tip of a knife, or hold the saucisson under warm water for a few seconds: the casing then comes away without effort. The white bloom on the surface, on the other hand, is perfectly edible: it is what gives the saucisson its characteristic woodland aroma.

How much charcuterie should you allow per person?

For an aperitif where charcuterie is only part of the spread, allow 30 to 50 g per person. For a meal-sized aperitif, or a board that stands in for dinner, go up to 80 to 120 g per person. On our formats that gives a simple rule of thumb: a 105 g mini saucisson serves two to three people at an aperitif, a whole 250 g saucisson serves four to six. Always allow a little extra: unlike the rest of the board, dry-cured sausage keeps very well, and whatever is not eaten is never wasted.

How do you put together a good charcuterie board?

Play on contrasts. Bring together three to five charcuteries with different textures and flavours: a plain coarse-ground saucisson, a flavoured one (walnut, hazelnut, Beaufort), a chorizo for heat, and something more unusual such as a fuet or mini salami to pick at. Slice dry-cured sausages thinly and on the bias, lay them out in a rosette or in waves rather than in stacks, and leave one or two whole pieces with a knife: it is convivial and it dresses the board. Round it off with one or two cheeses, country bread, gherkins or olives, and something sweet — grapes, figs, fig jam — to balance the salt. One last tip, often forgotten: take the charcuterie out of the cold twenty to thirty minutes before serving; the aromas come through far better at room temperature.

Can you cook with dry-cured sausage?

Absolutely, and it is the best use for a piece that has gone too dry. Diced, dry-cured sausage flavours a quiche, a savoury cake, an omelette, a pan of potatoes, a lentil soup or a plate of pasta beautifully. Add it at the end of cooking: it is already matured and does not need long, and too much heat would toughen it. Our chorizo, for its part, takes cooking very well and is wonderful in a risotto or on a pizza — two recipes you will find on our blog.

Product quality

My product is covered in mould

Yes, that is entirely normal: it is the natural bloom (penicillium and yeasts) that forms during slow, traditional drying. It is perfectly edible, and it is the mark of an artisan saucisson.

My product is covered in mould

Its characteristic aroma, reminiscent of mushrooms and woodland, contributes directly to the unique taste of our saucissons. Our master charcutiers watch the development of that bloom closely so that, at maturity, it brings out the very best in our products.

My saucisson feels sticky or tacky on the surface — is that normal?

Yes, it happens and it is not a defect. A saucisson that has travelled or spent time somewhere warm can let a little fat come to the surface, which gives that shiny, slightly tacky feel. Leave it to rest for a few hours in the open air, somewhere dry and cool, wrapped in a clean cloth if you like: the surface firms up by itself. If, on the other hand, the product gives off a distinctly abnormal smell, do not eat it and send us photographs by email: we will reply quickly.

The saucisson looks fatty

Our old-style dry-cured sausages can sometimes look fattier, and that comes from our traditional coarse mincing. In line with the French charcuterie code of practice, we make sure the recipe does not exceed 20% fat at mixing. The mincing is done carefully with a traditional grinder fitted with a 6 mm plate, which leaves the fat more visible than in an industrial sausage, where it is finely blended.

The saucisson looks fatty

The cut can therefore look fattier, especially next to industrial sausages, where the fat is often chopped very fine to hide it and sometimes even coloured artificially, notably with cochineal red. We prefer an even, visible balance between fat and lean, to give the best possible balance of taste. Our old-style recipe reflects our commitment to quality and authenticity. Its main features: - Fresh, first-choice meat from exclusively French pigs. - A generous, balanced recipe with less than 20% fat at mixing. - Coarse mincing, to preserve texture and character. - 100% natural ingredients, with no colourings. - Filling into natural casings, in keeping with artisan tradition. - Hand-tying with linen string, the mark of genuine craft. - Gentle warming and slow drying in natural air, to develop every flavour. - The natural bloom kept on, which gives our saucissons their distinctive character. Our craft guarantees an exceptional product, where every detail is considered to offer an incomparable tasting experience

The product is not the stated weight

Saucissons naturally lose water throughout the making process, particularly during the essential warming and maturing stages. That loss does not stop when the products leave our production site: even wrapped, they go on losing water. The regulations provide that, for products such as whole dry-cured sausages and similar items, the net weight stated corresponds to the weight of the products as they leave the production site. Unavoidable as it is, that loss of weight takes nothing away from the essential qualities of the saucisson. To reflect it, the words 'product subject to drying out' may be shown alongside the net weight. Our saucissons are made to keep their taste and their quality, even under these natural conditions.

My saucisson looks or measures differently from the photo.

Our saucissons are made and tied by hand, then dried slowly in natural air. No two pieces are ever exactly alike: the curve, the colour of the bloom, the size of the grain and the calibre all vary slightly from one to another. That is the signature of an artisan product, the opposite of an industrial sausage calibrated to the millimetre. The photographs on our product pages are representative, but your piece will always have a character of its own.

How do you tell whether a saucisson has gone off?

A well-kept dry-cured sausage lasts a long time. It hardens over the weeks, but it stays perfectly edible: hardening is not a sign of spoilage, any more than the white bloom on the surface, which is natural and edible. The real warning signs are elsewhere: a sour or ammonia-like smell, coloured moulds — green, black or pinkish — under the white bloom, or a slimy surface together with an unusual smell. In those cases, do not eat the product and write to us with photographs: we will find a solution.

Advent calendar

What is in the 2026 saucisson advent calendar? (spoiler alert)

It holds 87 pieces (818 g) and 8 flavours, including 3 whole dry-cured sausages: pure pork, with Cantal and with walnuts. The 84 mini salami are spread across 7 flavours, twelve of each — pure pork, Cantal, hazelnut, black olive, tomato, Parmesan and truffle — at four per door. A savoury surprise every day until Christmas.

How many people is the calendar for?

We wanted a generous advent calendar, ideal for the whole family.

When will I receive my advent calendar?

The saucisson advent calendar is sold as a pre-order: dispatch begins in November 2026, around 3 November for business customers and around 23 November for private customers. You receive a tracking email as soon as your parcel leaves us. Delivery is guaranteed before 1 December for any pre-order placed before 25 November.

How is the advent calendar delivered?

The calendar has its own dispatch circuit, separate from the rest of the shop: it travels by Mondial Relay to a pick-up point, which you choose at checkout. That delivery is free from €20 of purchase in France, Monaco, Belgium, Germany, Luxembourg and the Netherlands: both formats of the calendar qualify. In the other European Union countries we serve, it is free from €40. The exact amount is shown before payment, once you have entered your address. It has to be ordered on its own: as a pre-order it leaves on its own dispatch date, in an order separate from your other products.

When am I charged if I pre-order?

Payment is taken immediately at the time of pre-order: that is what secures your box.

Can I order other products at the same time as the calendar?

No. For logistical reasons the calendar ships separately from the rest of the shop: you need to place a separate order for your other products.

How long can I keep the advent calendar?

Each mini salami carries a best-before date on its packaging and generally keeps for several weeks. Store the box below 18 °C; the sausages are naturally subject to drying out.

Are there allergens in the calendar?

Yes. Some recipes contain milk (the Cantal sausage, the Parmesan mini salami) and nuts (walnuts, hazelnuts).

What should I do if my parcel does not arrive?

Do not worry: if you have had no tracking or your parcel is running late, contact us. We open an enquiry with the carrier and find a solution quickly.

Will I receive my calendar before 1 December?

Yes, provided you pre-order before 25 November. We dispatch the calendars from 23 November to keep the saucissons at their best, and delivery then takes 48 to 72 hours.

Trade, works councils & corporate gifts

How do I open a business account?

Resellers, grocers, wine merchants, works councils and associations: go to the professional area of our site and create your account by following the steps shown. Once your account is approved, you have access to our trade prices. The minimum order is €100, and delivery is free from €150. If you already have a private account, or if you currently buy from us through a marketplace and would like to deal with us directly, write to us at contact@laboutiquedessaucissons.fr: we will convert your account.

Do you sell wholesale to market traders, grocers or resellers?

Yes, it is a substantial part of what we do. We supply market traders, delicatessens, wine merchants, campsites, restaurants and producers' shops, in France and abroad. Our ranges come in formats made for resale: whole saucissons, mini salami singly or in packs, bûchettes, bagged mini salami, and ready-to-sell gift boxes. Open a business account on our site, or write to us at contact@laboutiquedessaucissons.fr with your activity and your volumes: we will come back to you with a price proposal.

Do you run fundraising sales for associations, clubs and schools?

Yes, and it works very well for funding a sports club, a school trip, an association or a village committee: saucisson sells easily, keeps for a long time and needs no cold chain. We help you with the choice of formats, the quantities and the delivery schedule, so that the goods arrive just before your event. Contact us in advance at contact@laboutiquedessaucissons.fr with your project, the number of pieces you have in mind and your date: the earlier you plan, the better we can serve you.

Do you work with works councils?

Yes. We support works councils with their end-of-year operations, their staff gifts and their catalogue offers. We offer gift boxes at a range of budgets, sliding prices by volume, and the choice of delivering either to a single site or directly to each employee's home. Write to us with your headcount, your budget per person and your deadline: we will draw up a quotation.

Can products or gift boxes be personalised in our company's colours?

It is a frequent request, and the answer depends above all on quantity and lead time. Depending on volumes, we can consider a personalised label, a card with your letterhead slipped into the parcels, or a made-to-measure gift box. These operations need planning, particularly before the holidays when our workshop is running at full capacity. Write to us at contact@laboutiquedessaucissons.fr with your project, the quantity you have in mind and your deadline: we will tell you quickly what is feasible.

What are the delivery charges and lead times for business orders?

Business orders have free delivery from €150 per order, both to a home address and to a pick-up point. Below that threshold a contribution applies and is shown at the time of ordering. Shipments go by Colissimo, UPS or Chronopost depending on weight and destination, with lead times comparable to our private orders: packing within 24 to 48 working hours, then 48 to 72 hours of transit. For large operations or dated deliveries, let us know in advance so that we can set the production schedule together.

Can I get a quotation and pay on invoice?

Yes. For any business request — resale, works council, association, corporate gifts — we draw up a detailed quotation. Write to us at contact@laboutiquedessaucissons.fr stating your organisation, the products, the quantities and your deadline. Bank transfer is accepted for business accounts. Your invoices are emailed to you and remain available at any time from your customer account.

How quickly do you reply?

We answer emails within 24 to 48 working hours. Messages received at the weekend are dealt with from Monday. To move faster, give us in your first message your name, your order number (for example CDC-LBDS23559) and, if the problem concerns a product, photographs. That saves an exchange and lets us handle your request straight away.

Where is your shop and what are your opening hours?

Our shop and our packing workshop are at 1C, chemin des Beaumes, 07260 Joyeuse, in the Ardèche. That is where all your orders are packed by hand. Our customer service can be reached by telephone on +33 6 77 63 73 87, Monday to Friday from 10am to 1pm and from 3pm to 5pm. We are closed on Saturdays and Sundays.

Where can we meet you?

Every year we take part in several trade fairs, including the Salon Made in France and the Salon International de l'Agriculture: a chance to taste our products and talk to the team directly. The dates we will be there are announced in the newsletter and on our social media. For a claim, however, only email allows effective handling: contact@laboutiquedessaucissons.fr.
